The submission period for DV-2024 is from October 5, 2022 12:00 PM EDT (GMT -4) to November 8, 2022 12:00 PM EST (GMT -5). The entry form can only be submitted during this period and only this period. Entries will NOT be accepted through the US Postal Maintenance.

2023 Diversity Visa Applicants: All applicants to a DV-2023 diversity visa program must qualify for and obtain their visa or adjust their status by the end of fiscal year 2023 (September 30, 2023).
Read the DV-2024 Input Instructions carefully. Entrants may be disqualified for not correctly completing the entry form or for submitting more than one entry.
DV-2024 Program: The online registration period for the DV-2024 program begins on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4) and ends on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at noon, Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5). If more than one entry is submitted for an individual, all entries for that individual will be disqualified.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the United States Department of State’s Electronic Diversity Visa Program, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
- The English version of the DV-2024 Program Instructions in PDF format is the only official version. Unofficial translations into other languages will be added to this webpage as they become available.
- Note: As per the instructions, some countries may include foreign components and dependent territories for eligibility. If you are from a Dependency or Overseas Territory, please select the appropriate country for which you are eligible. For example, residents of Macau SAR should select Portugal and residents of Martinique should select France.
- If you’re not from a country with historically low immigration rates to the United States, there are two other ways you can qualify.
- Is your spouse from a country with historically low immigration rates to the United States? If so, you can claim your spouse’s
- Country of Birth – provided you and your spouse are named on the selected entry, qualify and obtain a diversity visa, and enter the United States at the same time.
- Were you born in a country where immigration to the United States is not historically low, but where neither of your parents was born or legally resident at the time of your birth? If yes, then you may claim the country of birth of either of your parents if it is a country whose natives are eligible for the DV-2024 program.
