The Association of Commonwealth Universities Ocean Country Partnership Scholarships
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the Association of Commonwealth Universities Ocean Country Partnership Program Scholarships aimed at supporting scientific research that will contribute to the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources.
The Ocean Country Partnership Program (OCPP) scholarships, funded by the UK’s Blue Planet Fund, offer South Pacific students a unique opportunity to pursue a fully-funded Master’s or PhD in Marine Sciences.

Ocean Country Partnership Program Scholarships 2023 | Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Ocean Country Partnership Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants for master’s degree programs must be citizens of and normally resident in the eligible countries.
- Applications for doctoral research from citizens of other Pacific countries (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Tokelau, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu) will be accepted, but only if their research focuses on or is directly applicable to Vanuatu or the Solomon Islands.
- Must work in or have significant experience in environmental, fisheries and aquaculture science work.
- Must hold a bachelor’s or bachelor’s degree. Must propose a research topic that is innovative, current and likely to lead to a clearly demonstrated wider impact beyond the academic community.
- Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for postgraduate study at the host university.
