APC members defect to PDP in Sokoto, APC members defect, The Ondo State branch of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has perfected plans to kill false members of the Youth Corps to the 2023 General Election, sparking a war of words between the two parties. The PDP claimed in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, that the APC had recruited some fake Youth Corps members to pave the way for vote manipulation during the election. Peretei revealed that the plans were hatched at a meeting attended by the state's governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, the state's APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin, and other APC leaders, where settlement was reached on how to hold elections in the 18 local government areas in the state. However, Peretei warned that Ondo State is watching and would not accept any manipulation of the elections, and called on people to be wary of these anti-democratic and unscrupulous elements. "The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Ondo State Chapter, has unveiled a grand plan by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the 2023 general election. "Against the backdrop of unfulfilled promises to Nigerians in 2015 and 2019, the APC leadership has perfected a plot to jeopardize the electoral process by recruiting fake Youth Corps members to serve as presiding officers in the general election. "The plot was hatched at a meeting attended by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, APC State Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin and other leaders in Abuja, where their marching order was given to quickly identify five leaders in each of the state's 18 local government areas to coordinate this evil plot. "If the 2023 election were about dividends from democracy delivered to the people, the APC knows, it wouldn't stand a chance of winning. "Their recent outing in the Osun state governor elections has also opened their eyes to the reality that not even the precious metal vans can save them from imminent failure, hence the trick of resorting to all available tricks in the books. "For example, in the state of Ondo, where officials have become the butt of every joke, especially teachers whose letters of promotion have been withheld because they failed to present Masters in Education degrees or were forced to attend the Public Service Training Institute, Ilara-Mokin for a whooping N130,000.00 per person are not allowed to freely exercise their voting rights by voting for their preferred candidates. In free and fair elections, officials are sure to avenge their humiliation and frustration over the years. "Our party calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission not to allow itself to be used in this unpatriotic act. "If President Muhammad Buhari tragically failed to provide security, as well as sustain the prosperous economy he inherited, the least expectation is that he will hold free, fair and credible elections in 2023. "He must not allow desperate politicians in his party to destroy all that is left of his battered image. "Our party urges Nigerians who want to save and rebuild our precious country to be vigilant at all times, especially during the elections, as they have the choice of either leaving the incompetent APC government in power or the current one. drift to stop at all costs." However, the APC in its quick response said the PDP only wept where there is none, describing the allegations as irrational and baseless, noting that the opposition party in the state feels nervous and fears defeat in the election. Speaking through its publicity secretary, Alex Kalejaye, the APC said the party: "wishes to sympathize with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) about its impending miserable results in the 2023 general election. "The PDP's misery would be compounded by both its self-inflicted internal squabbles and poor preparations for the national exercise. "While the APC has since begun preparations to resolve issues arising from its primaries, and is taking action with all seriousness to mobilize its members ahead of the appropriate campaigns, the PDP is sulking and summarizing how the ruling can blackmail party for her unavailable bad performance" Kalejaye said: "The APC-led government in Ondo state would remain focused on its responsibilities to the people. Good governance is at the heart of our decisions. The state is too enlightened to fall for propaganda. "Incredibly, the PDP would take it upon themselves to watch out for officials who have collected their promotional letters, and pray incessantly for Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the gesture. "For the first time in Sunshine State history, primary school teachers are promoted to Grade Level 16. There was a recent government in the state that never believed in worker advancement. "The APC is counting on the support and understanding of the people to achieve another overwhelming victory in 2023. We call on the opposition party to negate the thoughts of manipulation during the elections.
