Court annuls Ebonyi . local government election

A federal supreme court, sitting Thursday in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi state, has invalidated recently held local government elections in the state.

According to the court, the municipal elections of 30 July 2022 violated the provisions of the Elections Act 2022.

The presiding judge, Judge Rilman Fatun, ruled in a lawsuit No. FHC/AI/CS/151/2022 that the election was undemocratic, unlawfully shrouded in secrecy.
