Fraudulent Student Not Our Executive Member – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students has stated that Adeyemi Abiodun, a recently convicted student of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, is not the executive member at any level.

It was previously reported that Abiodun, a student of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, who claimed to be the Logistics Director of the Oye-Ekiti Department of NANS, was recently brought before the Oyo State High Court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. . .

He was arrested in March with a NANS license plate.

Abiodun was eventually sentenced to a year in prison for internet-related fraud.

He was arrested along with 79 others and convicted on Wednesday.

But NANS president Asefon Adedayo regretted that some students and individuals had started using the NANS license plate as a cover for illegal and illegal transactions.

Speaking to Saturday PUNCH in a telephone interview on Thursday, Asefon said he disclosed this to Nigerian police and stated that he would disclose their associates offering them cover.

The NANS president said, “He is not an executive of NANS. I made it known; it is not today that we have bad eggs in us. There are people giving them the license plates and we will be revealing their names shortly.

“As I speak to you and as chairman of NANS, that man is never an exco of NANS at the state, zone or national level. He is therefore not known to us as an exco of NANS.”
