Gunmen kill hotel owner, three guests in Ebonyi

Gunmen reportedly killed a hotel owner, identified as Chief Ogbonnaya Nwadibia, and three guests at the hotel, in the Isu community in the Onicha Local Government Area of ​​Ebonyi State.

According to a reliable source, the attackers invaded the late Mr. Nwadibia’s Galaxy Hotel and unleashed chaos.

A resident of the area, Mr Igwe Nwaokorie, told our correspondent in Abakaliki on Sunday that the incident happened on Friday night.

Nwaokorie confirmed that the owner of the hotel, Chief Nwadibia, (aka Galaxy) was among the three dead.

“The incident took place on the night of Thursday, August 26. The suspects entered the hotel on motorcycles, armed and about three of them.

“Before we could know what was going on, we started hearing gunshots that lasted for several minutes. After they left, three people were found dead, including the owner of the hotel,” he explained.

The incident, which has been collected according to PUNCH Metro, has sparked tensions in the area since the day of the incident, as residents reportedly remain in their homes for several minutes after 5:00 p.m. daily.

Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Sunday.

Command has been issued, however SP Chris Anyanwu noted that command did not yet have all the details of the incident.

“Yes, the command has heard about the incident, but we have not been given all the details of what actually happened,” said Anyanwu.
