Police in Bauchi state have found a 17-year-old girl, Mildred Ebuka, who went missing on Thursday while running an errand in Lagos.
Ebuka reportedly left her home on Victoria Island on Thursday to deliver a wig cap to a friend of her aunt’s in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Bauchi’s police command on Friday warned the public to find the girl in custody.
In a statement posted to its Twitter platform, the police chief said: “The 17-year-old Mildred Joshua Ebuka female carrier of Block 19 Ubandale street Victoria Island Lagos State, whose photo appeared below, left the house on Thursday, 08/25/2022 at a message from a wig cap to her aunt’s friend in Ikorodu, on the way she stopped a taxi bus not far from her house, from there she was in Bauchi.
“She is from Lagos and speaks fluent English. She was wearing a light blue blouse and trousers, she was white in skin color and she has no pedigree.”
State Police Public Relations Officer Ahmad Wakili told The PUNCH on Friday that Mildred was found in a park in Bauchi.
Alkali said: “The essence of sharing information is to find her parent. She couldn’t remember anything when she got to Bauchi. A lady woke her up in the park, and she didn’t know where she was.
“So they contacted the police and our PR agency drew my attention to it. That’s why I made it public.”
Our correspondent who checked the address found that the street does not exist.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed that the street did not exist.
He said: “We hope her relatives will contact her if they see her photo.”
