Rafael Nadal said it was “an honor” to share “great moments” with Roger Federer after the Swiss superpower announced his retirement from tennis on Thursday.
“Dear Roger, my friend and rival, I wish this day never came,” Nadal wrote on Twitter.
“It was a pleasure, but also an honor and a privilege to be able to share all those years with you and experience so many great moments on and off the pitch.”
Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer said he will retire on Thursday after next week’s Laver Cup.
“The Laver Cup next week in London will be my last ATP event,” he said in a statement on his Twitter account.
