No N289.8mn contract awarded to us by JAMB, ICT company clarified

An information and communications technology (ICT) company, International Control System (ICS), has debunked an online report that claimed it had been awarded a N289.8 million contract to supply office supplies to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). .

The ICT company said there was no trace of truth in the said report and urged the public to ignore any such report calling for an investigation by JAMB into the alleged contract.

A statement issued by the company and signed by Fidelis Okpala, made available to journalists in Abuja on Friday, said it has instructed its lawyers to take legal action against the authors of the embarrassing report.

Okpala said it was an aberration for a reputable IT company to be involved in the delivery of office supplies in this current era of digital transformation.

The company’s statement was titled: ‘Refusal of the alleged award of a contract for the supply of office supplies worth N289,859,700 inclusive of VAT, to International Control System on June 14 and May 14, 2021 of which the value was surplus (N18. 984.420.84) by JAMB’ .

It reads: “The attention of the management of International Control Systems Limited, a provider of IT solutions and services, has been drawn to an article recently published exclusively by an online media platform entitled: “EXCLUSIVE: Anti-graft Agency , ICPC To Probe Education Agency … JAMB”.

“It was alleged in the said article that on June 14 and May 14, 2021, a contract for the supply of office supplies worth (N289,859,700) inclusive of VAT was awarded to International Control Systems, the value of which was over (N18, 984, 420 84) signed by one Mufutua A. Bello.

“This is a very malicious and false allegation as International Control Systems Limited has not been contracted for the alleged amounts for the supply of office supplies. It is indeed an aberration for a reputable IT company to be involved in the delivery of office supplies in this era of digital transformation solutions across all sectors of the economy worldwide.
