Osimhen’s agent dispels rumors at United

Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has pushed rumors linking his player to Manchester United this summer. Saturday PUNCH reports.

Multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia, Tuttosport and Rai, claim Jorge Mendes – Ronaldo’s agent is working on a deal to bring the Portuguese to Naples and Osimhen to Manchester United.

They also reported that Italian club Napoli has demanded 120 million euros plus Cristiano Ronaldo for a seasonal loan with 75 percent of his salary paid by the Red Devils to sign Osimhen this summer.

But Calenda revealed that his client (Osimhen) is not completely convinced to join the Red Devils as the Nigerian striker is eager to play in the UEFA Champions League this season.

He is also convinced that he can develop further under Luciano Spalletti this season.

“No negotiations underway, no exchanges,” Calenda tweeted Friday.

“Victor Osimhen is a Napoli player and wants to play the Champions League with his Napoli, having proudly won it together with the coach and team-mates on the pitch.”

The Partenopei have been drawn against national champions Ajax, Glasgow Rangers and Liverpool in group A of the competition.

Bayern Munich to Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the 23-year-old striker scoring 30 goals in 64 appearances for Napoli in three seasons.

Last season, Osimhen scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 27 Serie A games. He has scored twice in two appearances for Napoli this season.
