Police arrest woman for kidnapping 3 children

Borno State Police Command has paraded 55 suspects and arrested a woman for allegedly kidnapping three children – two boys and a girl.

State Police Commissioner CP Abdu Umar, who announced this at a press conference in Maiduguri on Thursday, said the suspect, Ensa Esewa, 46, who had kidnapped Mustapha Abdullahi, aged 7, between August 5 and 6. Mustapha 5 years and Hajara Alassan 3 years.

According to CP Umar, the suspect kidnapped the three children with the intention of taking them to the home of a Lady B in Lagos, who secured her a contract in the amount of five hundred thousand Naira.

He said that “the suspected detainee and some of the money given to her four hundred and ten Naira have been recovered while the children she stole and who she was about to get into a vehicle in Borno Express are safe and sound and be united with their parents”.

In an interview with Tribune, the suspect said that a woman named Lady B, who lives in Lagos, gave her N500,000 while promising to change her if she brought her three children from Northern Nigeria.

“She took me to a native doctor in Ondo state, from there she now took me to Rivers, where a ritualist gave me something to put in my mouth and she said I’ll forget everything.”

“She escorted me to the station and I got into a Maiduguri car. When I arrived I went to Monday Market where I picked out these three kids.

“She told me not to tell anyone, not even my husband, if I tell anyone I will die.”

“She has so many shops in the market, I met when I went to buy some things for my kids, she said you can speak Hausa and I said yes. She now said I will help change your life because I have helped many people”

“She now asked me to come and meet her, she has something for that change that how I met her, she is Lady B, we will stay in the same market in Lagos,” she added.

CP Umar also said the command has managed to arrest 59 other criminals in various locations across the state.
