Tribunal: Oyetola resorts to media trial, claims PDP

The Osun State branch of the People’s Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of resorting to a media trial over their petition against Senator Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the July 16 governor’s poll.

A statement from Osun PDP Director of Media and Publicity, Oladele ‘Bamiji, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, said APC declared the state unsafe within a week from its plan to move the trial of the tribunal against Adeleke’s victory. to Abuja.

The party also claimed that APC would sponsor false election analyzes by paid agents posing as election monitors.

The statement read in part: “The media trial is an insult to the judiciary which has shown a willingness to carry out its responsibilities without fear or favour.

“We therefore commend the people of Osun to be on guard and be prepared to resist any plot by the APC to make a mess of our democracy with its incessant culture of mandate-stealing.

“For us, as a law-abiding party, we reiterate our respect for the judiciary and are confident that it will push back any diabolical attempt to deny people their rights to decide who leads them.”

When contacted for comment, Kola Olabisi, special adviser to Osun APC Chairman of Media, said PDP no longer felt at ease since his antics were exposed.

“Where is the media trial of which the absolutely confused PDP is accusing the Osun APC? The APC is a product of the rule of law that no provocation of a political irritant would lead to self-help.

“It will better benefit the PDP of Osun State if its escorts can learn how not to waste their energy on frivolous daily writings to stir up sentiment to protect their Pyrrhic victory in the July 16, 2022 gubernatorial election,” he said. Olabisi.
